I am pleased to announce the release of ConnochaetOS 0.9.0. After one year of development and after three years after the last release of it's predecessor DeLi Linux, this the first stable release of ConnochaetOS.

I am pleased to announce the release of ConnochaetOS 0.9.0. After one
year of development and after three years after the last release of
it's predecessor DeLi Linux, this the first stable release of
ConnochaetOS. In the last weeks since RC1 we simplified the installer
once again, fixed some more bugs, updated the kernel, the web
browser XXXTerm and other packages and produced some documentation.

ConnochaetOS 0.9.0 provides Kernel Linux-Libre 2.6.32.43, the IceWM
Desktop 1.3.7, a lighweight webkit based web browser - XXXTerm, Goffice
Word processor and Spreadsheet - Abiword and Gnumeric, lighweight E-mail
and IRC apps, multimedia player, file manager, cd burning tool and even
some small games

Optional are available: kernel Linux-Libre 2.6.39.4, GNU Icecat - a
libre Firefox derivative in the versions 3.6.16 and 5.0, LXDE 0.5.x and
many other packages.


About ConnochaetOS

ConnochaetOS is a fully free/libre operating system for the desktop
with old computers in mind, but with modern software. 
Minimum hardware requirements are:a i586 compatible processor (i. e.
Pentium I),at least 64 MB RAM, at least a 2 GB hard disk

The name ConnochaetOS derives from "Connochaetes", the scientific name
for "Gnu". ConnochaetOS  contains only free software, according to
the GNU Guidelines for Free System Distributions. See

Ich bin erfreut die Freigabe von ConnochaetOS 0.9.0 bekannt zu geben.
Nach einem Jahr der Entwicklung und drei Jahre nach der letzten
Freigabe des Vorgängers DeLi Linux ist dies das erste stabile Release
von ConnochaetOS. In den letzten Wochen seit RC1 haben wir den
Installer nochmals vereinfacht, einige weitere Bugs behoben, den
Kernel, den Webbrowser XXXTerm und andere Pakete aktualisiert, und
einiges an Dokumentation produziert.

ConnochaetOS 0.9.0 bietet Kernel Linux-Libre 2.6.32.43, den IceWM
